“Interdependence,” from Physical Impossibility: A Jewish Reflection on Scientific Mystery, pairs a prayer for peace with an original poem about interaction among different species in the ecosystem. When juxtaposed with examples of communication and cooperation among trees and between trees and fungi, the idea of humans resolving our differences seems a little less far-fetched. Premiered by C4: the Choral Composer/Conductor Collective March 15th & 16th, 2025; with conductor Emma Daniels.
