On Beauty was commissioned by the Cheah Chan Duo, Phillip Cheah and Trudy Chan, for their tenth anniversary concert in March 2019. This mini song cycle, on an original text, consists of three brief songs that explore the substance and significance of beauty from three distinct perspectives—that of Aristotle, Mary Wollstonecraft, and Confucius.
