Shortly after the death of my father Larry Siegel in 2025, my family received an email from a life-long friend of his with a photo of a postcard he had received from my father. I was struck by the expression of love in the note, and I wondered if there were more like it. This work weaves together fragments of my father’s words in emails and handwritten notes sent to family and friends who kindly answered my request for them (and for which I’m grateful). It’s a testament to his remarkable thoughtfulness towards his friends, commitment to nurturing those relationships, and openness in his expressions of affection.
